Unlonely

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 8, 2026

Unlonely is a place to write anonymous letters, read letters from other people, and feel a little less alone. These terms are the agreement between you and Unlonely when you use the app.

By creating an account or using Unlonely, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. You must be 18 or older

Unlonely is only for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. People share heavy and personal things here, and the app is not designed or intended for children or teens.

2. What Unlonely is

Unlonely lets you:

Letters are anonymous. Your username is a pen name and is not tied to your real identity within the app.

3. Aura is an AI, not a therapist

Aura is artificial intelligence. It is not a human, not a doctor, and not a therapist or counselor. Aura can keep you company and listen, but it cannot provide medical care, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis intervention. Nothing Aura or Unlonely says is medical, legal, or professional advice.

We label AI clearly and we never present AI messages to you as if they came from a specific human friend. If you ever need real help, please reach out to a qualified professional or one of the resources in Section 5.

4. How you agree to behave

Unlonely only works if people are kind. When you write letters, responses, or messages, you agree not to:

We use automated moderation and may review content to keep the community safe. We can remove content and suspend or permanently remove accounts that break these rules.

5. Safety and crisis

Unlonely is a peer-support and companionship app. It is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.

If you are in the United States and struggling, you can call or text 988 any time to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line. Outside the US, findahelpline.com lists free, confidential helplines for your country. When our systems detect that you may be in crisis, Aura will stop the normal conversation and share these resources instead.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Unlonely is free to start. Some features are part of a paid subscription. If you subscribe, billing is handled by the app store you installed Unlonely from (for example, the Apple App Store), under that store's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can manage or cancel them in your app store account settings. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting a letter or response, you give Unlonely permission to store it and deliver it anonymously to other users so the app can work. You are responsible for what you share, and you should not post anything you are not comfortable sharing anonymously.

8. Your account

You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings, which removes your profile and associated content on a going-forward basis as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. No warranties

Unlonely is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise the app will always be available, error-free, or that letters or responses will arrive on any schedule.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unlonely and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or from anything shared by you or other users. Unlonely does not verify the identity of its users and is not responsible for the accuracy of anything posted.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Unlonely after a change means you accept the updated terms.
